Could our esteemed web-bard, or someone else in the know, explain the new "special access" forums? The exclusivity itself, with its exclusive sounding "go away" sort of message makes me curious.

As such, I'd suggest, if you really want things secret and quiet, that you don't post the officer-only forum topics to the list of topics available to the general public. Are you referring to the officers' inbox, Drexx? At the last guildmeeting, someone suggested it would be helpful to have a sort of "suggestion box" that only officers could see. This would allow people to post concerns that needed to be addressed by officers but not viewable by the general populace. Tanliel and Ferrer are trying to come up with something that fits this description while not taunting regular guildies with the fact that "ha ha here's another forum you don't have access to."

To answer your second comment - apparently the same coding rules that allow non-officers to see the forum's existance mean that posts to that forum show up on the "recent posts" list, whether or not a non-officer can actually read those posts.

At least that's my understanding.

If you can't blind-out the topics in restricted forums, then, of course, you run the risk of accidentally tipping your hand through topic subject. (Imagine the scandal when, unreadable to us all, we still see a topic called "Drexxell's niggling complaints" in the officer section)
