What about holding a reunion and inviting everyone who has ever been a member of WoV to attend. Now that EQ is free, that would not be a problem for most people. You could make it for a whole weekend to give everyone a chance.

Get volunteers to help with the planning of the details and the promotion (or two separate teams). Offer games, prizes, feasting (get some of the trade skillers to make armor, food, drink, etc.) Make it an all-out first WoV reunion and a BIG DEAL. Email some members if you know they don't come to the forum much.

Get as many people you can to help, since it won't be as effective if one person does it all, and we don't want you to do all the work and burn yourself out. I'll volunteer to write some of the promotion (I'm not much good at the legwork, but I feel comfortable doing the marketing writing or at least some of it).

You could also have teams of people visiting other forums to let people know - not necessarily guild forums, although Heroes would be a good one - but EQ general forums, etc. For instance, WTF Comics would be a good one to advertise since it has tons of past EQ players in it. I'm a member of that forum and could insert a blurb with the reunion details in it. And so on.

Anyhow, it's one idea.

Hi freezee, EQ has lost so many ...it has lost it's luster to me right now...dunno if life will ever slow down to where I can enjoy playing like I use to.....raise yo hand if you feel the same hehe /big hugs to u all!

I started with EQ when it commenced in March 1999. For over a year, I lived, ate, and breathed EQ. It was the wonder game of the century for me. Then I gradually got burned out. It never returned to its same luster for me again. And each time I tried it, hope that it would be the same thrill as it was in the beginning died a-borning.

No game has ever given me the full experience I had with EQ when it first began (I remember when I gazed with awe at a level 17 barbarian and thought I could never get that high...I was level 6 at the time...then the first time I hit level 20 and could get a surname!! I got married in EQ at the same time and took his in-game surname. Life didn't get much better than that). It makes me sad and happy, all at the same time to remember way back then.
