Convenient, but I guess it's another step toward removing all distinctions between the classes.

It's more of a convenience thing, than a blurring of the classes. Clerics will never be replaced as main healers.

The biggest thing is items staying equipped and spells staying memmed after death, will help prevent those 2nd deaths on raids when stupid paladins rez you within AE range of the mob.

It was pointed out on the EQtraders boards that this is a mixed blessing. For the most part it will be nice, but there are times where being able to leave items on a corpse has been helpful. For me, it was when I wanted to do a big tradeskilling batch, but my bags and bank were too full. I would make a corpse and leave the bags on it. Using a TS Trophy I could then summon 8 new bags and have lots fo space to hold subcombines. This was especially useful for sickle runs and Refining ore.

And so much for leaving a corpse to hold a 'No Rent' key or object when you have to log off! Er, sorry, a 'Temporary' item. Looks like they're slowly turning EQ1 gameplay into EQ2 (JOKING!) hehehe. In EQ2 your death only damages your equipment; when you respawn you're still dressed and your spells are still memmed (because there is no memming) but you have to recast all of your buffs. /shrug It's not really that similar, but was funny in my brain at this hour of the morning.
