I was dilly dallying around Fear last night and smiling at how particularly nasty those raid wipes were back in the day (which was a Thursday btw).
It made me start thinking about the original EQ. I am sure as advanced as the game has become, we all catch ourselves saying "Remember when..."
Some things I remember (a tough statement in light of my innate gnomish drinking habits):
1 - Having a druid/wizard friend was MANDATORY for travel. Those Karanas were grueling!
2 - Camping Najena for Journeyman Boots and the mad dash before it got revamped.
3 - Crushbone and the trains...
4 - Enchanters were thought to be completely broken and useless because all they had were some Mezz spells...some crappy version of the all powerful ROOT!
5 - Spending your entire night travelling from Butcher Block to Freeport then to Lake Rathe and not being pissed about wasted time, but bragging about it to friends instead!
Just a few...
