Wayfarers of Veeshan

On August 19th at noon PST (3pm EST/2pm CST) I'll be leading another excursion into Ashengate. The primary goal will be to make cough up some for those of us working on the quest.

However, this wouldn't be one of my events without as much tied together as possible, so here is the agenda:

We will meet in Direwind Cliffs just south of the 2 who will be taken down for 2 reasons. First, more Charm of Lore drops. Second, so people won't have to worry about how to get past them.

Once inside Ashengate we will fight our way deep into the west wing. Along the way we will be killing mobs that are part of various tasks that people can get credit for it they have them running. Here are the tasks I reccommend getting ahead of time:

In Sunderock you can request and at the plateau camp. Neither has any prerequisites & the chances are we will kill everything needed during the event.

You can also request in Direwind, but it will require a little effort to get done once inside. It can be done in about 2 minutes per person in the first room so we will hold the room for anyone interested.

Along the way to the magma slimes area we will be sure kill any nameds we see (No sense letting good loot go to waste).

Once we reach our camp, there will be 3 nameds in the area:
Magmaraug, our main target for CoL pieces, who also drops real loot.
, who drops a nice aug for 2-handed weapons.
and who is part of the follow up task to Children of the Flame.

My usual loot rules will be in effect: Quest stuff to those furthest along, equippable stuff rolled on, task stuff delegated, and the rest FFA. If you are working on CoL, please review the checklist and have a count of how many pieces you have handed in so far.

Wanderlust note: We will be hitting marks 2 & 3 during this event, and I plan to hit the East wing in September. If you are working on the quest then just be sure to have mark 1 prior to the 19th. It is easy to reach with 1 group, especially if you are willing to make a BDA'd suicide run for it.

Have your MT be prepared for Magmaraug, he pops me for about 2500 max (3573 ac with Ward of Tunare Up) and fast even slowed. My group make up was Monk boxing his chanter and cleric, me boxing a shammy, ranger, and another cleric. I don't think I could have did him with just one healer in group, honestly, it would have been close. There is a safe spot on the west side of the zone in between the bridge and the drakes area, which is the (Wild Ramps) camp, and there are no roamers. You can clear the drakes north from there to where Magmaraug, Arbiter of Ash, and The Unspeakable are at (floaties required as the floor is slick entirely). You can also probably scoop up the guardian for a nice (not lore) or .

*Note* I've got all the group stuff done, and will tell you a trick in game on how to get a "raid" drop.

I'm glad everyone enjoyed. I'm going to push back September's raid into the east wing to instead do a more focused version of this one again. I'll make a post later this week once I figure look at what I already have planned for next month.

Todays raid was very successful in my opinion. Lots of quests advanced, 3 Magmaraug spawns, and about 4 AAs per person that stayed teh whole time, plus lots of loot:

a that got Ninja looted by Rot (who was not invited),
Several Large Power Sources, and even 1 Zone Rare:!

We learned where both Slimes PHs spawn as well as where a very good place to set up camp is. That will make it much easier to get in position to farm them next time.
