There is no secret, they just want everyone to keep buying expansions that cause them to have to upgrade their computers to kep playing the game

Ok, so I was on the pally boards and a few things got cleared up for me about why they're releasing this and raising the level cap:

1) They are releasing this expansion in its normal time (November), but from this point on they will be cutting back on expansions to make them come out only once a year.

2) Instead of another server merger (which they should do), they're raising the level cap in large part to help smaller raiding guilds get over the hump of tougher raids. This shows an incredible lack of foresight, imo, because sooner or later they're going to have to do a server merger, and raising the level cap doesn't do much for casual gamers, which there are plenty of.
