Not sure who has been affected by this mess. My personal experience has been that Dorann was rolled back by around two days losing experience, AA's and his behemoth flag he got last night on AR raid. I was in highhold keep doing monster mission when I was disconnected, when I logged back in he was rolled back. The big problem is that I had 14k plat in shared bank account from sale of two items off zaymule in bazaar. The sale took place within the two days of dorann's rollback but zaymule apparently hasnt been rolled back because the items are still gone even though the money was eaten when they rolled back Dorann. I dont believe Zayphres has been rolled back and the message on EQ states that they are done with rollbacks so maybe he's "safe". I'm waiting on a second petition but hold little hope, i'm so mad right now i'm ready to just quit.

This is part of the rollbacks for the beta vendors appearing in PoK after the patch on the 18th. I would definately petition and lay out the time line of the events and what was what.

ESPECIALLY if you made legitimate sales of items and are out the plat.

How was Dorann affected by the beta vendors? Did you buy anything from them? Sell anything to them?

As far as I am aware I did not directly purchase anything other than food/water from vendor by the small bank in PoK. Now sony has stated that any characters coming in contact with money or items even from another player who in turn used vendors in question is subject to rollback so if you bought an item or sold and got platinum from someone that used the vendor exploit or whatever it was then you still get rolled back. I am unsure if this even applies to me, I've read the threads on sony's forum and some folks were rolled back just for being grouped with someone apparently even one entire guild was rolled back. Others have said that all of the characters on their accounts were rolled back while some like myself " I think " only had select toons rolled back. Sony has stated that epics and flags lost due to rollbacks will be reimbursed but people who have had this happen are saying that so far nothing has been done. My thread response there had over 511 views in less than 30 minutes so you can imagine the size of this problem that sony says only affected 1% of players.

I wasn't even awake when the problem happened. Everything I do is completely above board.

At some point I must have either sold something on my vendor that was bought with "tainted" money or bought something from a vendor that had somehow been tainted.

I was rolled back and lost a days EXP, 2 days of sales, and lots of aquisitions made in that time.

My responce was to cancell my account and I won't be purchasing the Prophecy of Ro expansion. My account is paid thru June 12, but after that I will be leaving Norrath behind. There are only a few things that I still want to see and do, and 4.5 months is plenty of time for me to do them in.

Sony has made numerous mistakes, but that's not what bothers me. It's what they do to try to fix them and their attitude they take to us, their customers, because of THEIR mistakes. For me this was just the final straw.

Any claims Sony makes that they did the "right thing" in this case are completely full of :censored: . As soon as they learned of the problem the servers should have been immediately brought down and any needed rollbacks (or even a full rollback) shoudl have been perfomed. Very few people would have been on, so very few would be effected. Basically, we would have had an extended patch of 1-2 hours which is nothing new to us. We tend to make a few withdrawal jokes and are happy once able to log on.

By taking the course of action they did, people were rolled back after receiving lots of legitimate earning such as days of EXP, flags (such as Behemoth), Skill-ups, Loot from high end zones such as Tacvi, Anguish, Demi-Plane and more. All this just to prevent a couple hours of game downtime.

Between this mess & the arrival of Vanguard, I expect to see another set of server merges before the end of the year as Norraths population diminishes further.

This will require us to take down the servers early tomorrow morning and they should be up and offering the modified experience at 9am PST. This event will run until Monday morning at 10am PST. I can't imagine EQ without Kahmon in it somewhere.

I think SOE's double xp is a poor substitute for doing the right thing. When players like Kahmon are outraged enough to cancel their accounts, it's going to take more than a weekend of double xp to fix things.

As far as I know I wasn't affected in the rollback. I haven't checked Alley yet, but she hasn't even been logged on since Wednesday night. That doesn't lessen my outrage about the entire situation.

This is a touchy issue for a lot of folks apparantly.

Regardless of what would have been "a better action to take" the implementation that they used, a selective rollback of those accounts with possible interaction with the beta vendors or plat from those interactions, is what we get to deal with.

It does absolutely no good to bash anyone for these decisions. You dont get to make the rules, you dont work there, and have very little insight into the actual process for the updates or the decisions about what to do to fix problems with them.

I'm sorry that folks got rolled back. I'm REALLY sorry that plat, items, AAs, etc were lost. The same thing can happen when the server crashes too ... but no one gets bent out of shape more than normal when it happens.

Whatever choice you make at this point is up to you. You can continue to be bent out of shape about it or you can petition to get your personal issues with the rollback resolved. You can quit or you can continue to play and have a good time.

Keep it all civil and I wont need to edit or delete messages.

Kah hate to see you go but believe me I fully understand, and although I played hard this weekend to take advantage of the double XP and try to lessen the sting I've still got issues. Tan I agree we are pretty much powerless and may not understand all the issues involved etc. My biggest complaint and from what I've seen in the forums etc, is that this is just one in a long string of events. Sony has a history, not only in EQ but in general of poor customer relations. I'm sorry I really didn't mean to start a thread that would require censoring or upset folks. I've always tried to keep a positive attitude and remember that it's only a game, but I'm also a paying customer, heck to be honest the only reason I'm still in the game is the friends I've made and that will probably keep me in the game, though I do plan on looking at the competion.

Anyways the issue has been "resolved" for better or worse and I'm trying to move past it. Hey as Sony so elegantly put it Your in THIER world now! :roll:
