If you haven't read The DaVinci Code yet, run - don't walk - to your nearest library or bookstore and get it. Failing that, anything else by Dan Brown is excellent also.

This book, as well as Angels & Demons, is heavy on the art history with an engrossing mystery tying everything together. I could hardly put either of them down.

Ditto, Alley...the book was a present to my wife and I from friends and we chewed through it in about a week each. (And it made visiting the Louvre last month a LOT more fascinating...)

If you're into current events, I was engrossed by Holy War, Inc. by Peter Bergen (the last journalist to interview Osama Bin Laden face to face before 9/11). It's somewhat out of date, being written before the invasion of Iraq, but is good insight into Al Qaeda. Being written by a British journalist it also is devoid of the general lies and propoganda from my own American "leaders". If you want to know REAL answers to "why?", (hint: has a lot to do with poor foreign policy decisions over 20 years and nothing to do with being hated for "being free") read this book.

Sorry..got political there.

My wife is reading Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, which was a reco from a friend of hers and says she's enjoying it. Might just be me, but I think this book would appeal more to female readers than male.

That's all that's new. For my old reco's, see Iro's thread.

Just an FYI..

Currently I'm reading another Tess Gerritsen book called Life Support. Its one of the medical background novel stories... she's an awesome author for those that like the to read that kind of fiction.

Some new authors I have strolled across that look like very exciting reads are Stephen White, G.P. Taylor and Stephen Woodworth. Stephen Woodworth to the best of my knowledge only has 2 books out so far, and I'm finishing the second one now, but they kinda go in order. The other 2 authors I have their books sitting here by me, some of their books rather, that I will start reading after I finish up this one i'm on now...

In case anyone is interested....

I seem to be a book worm lately.. reading several books in a week so thought I would throw out some other authors I have stumbled across that look like they are worth checking out (obviously since I bought the books hehe)....

Anybody else got any new books from the store or read one lately?

I've started reading the Kinsey Millhone books again - A is for Alibi, etc., by Sue Grafton. I think they're up to P or Q by now, and each one is better than the last. I'm now reading The Face by Dean Koontz - very odd book but interesting. I also like Charlaine Harris' books.

Nelson DeMille's latest, Night Fall, is great.

Presently reading . This one has a bit more vulgarity and adult situations than I would normally recommend for general reading. Rather surprising after reading his other books, but I'll finish it.

Also, just noticed that is now out in a "deluxe" edition (think there's more artwork, a map, something else) and the second book, Eldest, is due out later this year.
