Salut!

I tried getting on today but each time i zoned my screen freezed and i had to reboot computer. I dont know what they did in the last patch, but my computer sure doesnt like it.

I hope it will be fixed tonight though...

UI REMINDER

A reminder to people who are using custom User Interface skins that they may not work after today's patch (or any patch for that matter).
If you are experiencing crashes then you should type /loadskin default once you log in and update your User Interface skin to the new required settings (or wait for the download to become available if you use one someone else created).

I'm crashing a lot more now also, I've noticed that when you loot and such the new link thingy is standard. I wonder if this is causing a lot of our problems.

I hope it does, otherwise my days of playing are over. I am already on the low end due to my substandard video card and I lock up 8 times last night. I have also found that even thought I have /showspelleffects OFF, I still see all the effects and that bogs down my Vid card and I lockup. I even had corpse filter OFF and saw everyones corpses. Sigh, maybe I should just quit til I can figure out a way to jam a new video card into my motherboard.

as far as the particle effects being on, go into your display options (you may have to enlarge the window, they're hidden) and turn off all 3 of the new particle effect options. Also if you are using any UI other than the default you need to change that in your eqclient. If you are using Cable, DSL, or any broadband connection you can try editing the file datarate.txt to read 10.0 or 15.0. This helped my lag a good bit. May be unrelated, but less lag = fewer crashes sometimes.

I'm glad to hear that about the datarate.txt file. At one point I thought I read that 9.0 was the most it should be, and I have mine at 9, but it still takes me forever to zone. I'll try increasing it.

grr.. thanks Zbik. I had never heard of that file or altering it.. mine was set at 5.0
