Considering that they can't get the graphics to run smoothly and without lag on the very latest and greatest built-for-graphics machines out there (I know, since I own one), I'm pretty turned off by all the attention to detail they are putting into EQ2 graphics. Really unnecessary, IMHO, for the play of the game. Gee, look at my face with 1,000,000,000 polygons...too bad it takes me 5 minutes just to spin around and move 5 feet...

Drexx...I understand what you mean in a very big way, however...

The major problem with EQ1 graphics is that they are pushing the engine too hard....basically trying to milk a turnip. EQ2 with its updated engine will be able to run graphics twice as well as current EQ with the same or even less strain on your system. Luclin EQ models are roughly 2500 polygons, which is on par with most games that have come out in recent years. New engines (HL2, Unreal3) are using models that start at about 7500 and go up to around 14000. Gaming technology has made a huge leap in developing this next generation, and the primary focus of most studios has been better graphics with less system load. EQ2 will be using little to no technology from EQ1 where graphics are concerned, and EQ1 will remain live if you don't like EQ2 (I'll probably stick with EQ1 myself, but that's another rant).

I did a <PrntScrn> to copy a BMP version of the screen to the clipboard.

Then I openned up Powerpoint (MSPaint would be just as good) and pasted it into the program.

Then I used the crop tool to trim it where I wanted to, then saved it as a JPG.
