Wayfarers of Veeshan

Hey all,
I know that turning graphics off and spell effects and lowering your clip plane all help EQ run much better, but I had a spark earlier that it might be worth asking some knowledgable people - Are there any other simple thing I can do on my PC to make EQ run faster/more smoothly (mainly w/o buying stuff); setting changes or downloads or anything like that? I downloaded eqplaynice and use that, although I don't see much of a difference, and I'm curious...this unit isn't used for work, just for Gaming and internet use. My idea of tech support is whacking things that don't work, so I'm no computer genius but any ideas are appreciated. Thanks

use old-school models, and use /showname 1 (or /showname off)

If you use showname off, you'll have to have good hotkeys, or be good with the /target player_name command.

you can also turn luclin grass off somewhere. the shownames 1 thing makes a huge difference. try mip-mapping on/off. different vid cards handle mip-mapping different ways.

yes.. turn the grass off.. .. I asked in guildchat one day how and Alle made a stab in the dark with /showgrass off ( I think that was it) and all my grass went away
