What Happened to the site?
To be honest, we're still not entirely sure. All we know is that last Sunday morning sometime (June 29th 2003) the site went down. We hoped that there was a server outage, a router outage ... something that could not be controlled by us that was at fault. We'll probably never actually know, but after a couple days, it was no longer possible to wait. We started things in motion to move the site and get what we could back up and running.
What did we lose when it went down?
We lost everything actually. We had access to nothing on the site. Everything that we have now is a backup copy. The boards were backed up on the 17th of June prior to the 2.0.5 upgrade. The static pages I of course have a local copy of and easily replaced them.
We lost ALL attachments and pictures.
We lost the Roster and the database behind it.
We lost the phpBB for the previous two weeks, including all posts for new applicants.
We lost the Twilight Sea database (not the static pages).
What will be restored?
Whatever I can salvage. There isn't much...
Attachments are gone. They can not be restored.
Roster is gone. It will not be attempted again...too much work. I may be trying to work the epic and/or tradeskills into a phpBB mod.
Avatars and signatures are gone.
If your avatar or signature isn't up on the boards already I dont have it, so you'll need to re-upload it.
If you don't have a copy there are three options:
1 - Use a gallery pic
2 - go to
http://www.eqpixelarmy.com/ and make one
3 - get some screenshots and do a new avatar
(If you need help with this, you can PM me. It WILL take time to do, so be patient. I need to get the site up and working closer to 100% first.)
What's planned next?
Getting phpBB back to 2.0.5
Getting our 'normal' mods reintegrated to phpBB
Possible additions
Tradeskill numbers integrated into phpBB Profiles
Epic quest progress
New design? (need help with graphics, PM me if interested)
That's it for now. Please be patient and I'll get everything back as quickly as I can ... or we'll find some way to work around it.
