It was going to be a beautiful day in Skyfire, I knew. Episkopos had asked me to come help search for some elusive pearl hued shards. He had a few people assisting with this task already and I longed to share in the companionship and assist my good friend.
Suddenly, a cry is heard from Skyfire! It appears that the stalwart group that I was en route to meet had met an untimely fate at the hands of some ... Talendor.
I gasped ... surely it couldn't be ... not THE Talendor. I quickly shouted to all of the Wayfarers within my reach. "To arms! All hands are needed in Skyfire!" This was an opportunity for us to test our mettle and see how much we had learned in recent days.
Upon reaching the entrance to Skyfire, I found my friends, amidst several corpses. Luckily we had clerics there as well and everyone was quickly taken care of. Several of us began the search for Talendor, as he tends to wander when not feasting upon the innocent.
3 brave caballeros had engaged him before we were able to gain his attention. I asked them if they would need assistance as we had people on the way for just such an event. They asked if we would wait and see if they could conquer the beast on their own. (I had my doubts about this, but acquiesed and waited.) Soon, my doubts were realised and I was again in communication with the erstwhile dragon slayers.
By this time, the Wayfarers had appeared in stunning array within Skyfire proper. We moved to a staging area often frequented by Warder Cecilia. The brave dragon hunters went in search of Talendor again as he had tired of their corpses and wandered. Soon, I heard shouts of, "I found him...we're coming back!"
Making sure our groups were mostly ready, for I knew not when the dragon would arrive, I steeled myself and readied my own songs of defense. This was a dragon of fire, a great red beast, and unlike Nagafen or Ragefire, his breath and aura were quite overpowering. We would need a good deal of willpower to resist the urge to flee at the sight of him.
Through the pass and over the hill, I then saw the flicker of flame and a great red mass that could be nothing other than a dragon ... Talendor had made his way to us. Our fighters moved up to engage, the casters held back for their destructive onslaught, and the clerics began praying for healing upon those who were in harms way.
After it was all said and done, we had vanquished the mighty Talendor. We had done such a feat without a loss of our own! O happy day! The caballeros denied themselves a portion of Talendors horde, instead wishing us well and riding off.
We were blessed to see that Talendor had been hording well. I moved close and removed some of the large from his back. I knew of a gnome that could use these to fashion a lute the likes of which I have not seen.
Also, we were blessed to find , a , a , and several magical scrolls of , , and .
Congratulations to all of those who recived portions of the dragons horde!
