<Fade in from black. The great library in the Guild Hall of the Wayfarers of Veeshan appears. Pull back to reveal the tall, warty form of a Troll, hands held behind him, eyes scanning the covers of various tomes with an intelligence belied by his grotesque form. A beautiful Drakken female sits nearby at a table, sipping Candolet Tea. The recognizable faces become Druul and Denelan, recent additions to the guild.>
Druul: Hey Den, have you ever crossed paths with someone named Talinoth or Drexxel?
Denelan <thinking for a moment>: No, but the names are familiar.
Druul <pulling a book from the shelves and tossing it in front of Denelan>: Maybe from here?
<Denelan picks up the book. It is entitled "". She begins thumbing through the book, her eyes growing wide with wonder as she reads on.>
Denelan: It's a quest log! Look at this -- these four companions risked everything for each other so that each of them could acquire particular items. All-for-one, indeed!
<Druul nods, obviously inspired.>
Denelan: And they did all this successfully?
Druul: Indeed. In fact, it seems to have been a yearly occurrence for this foursome. Thunderhart, Xandamir, Drexxell and Talinoth. Here, look at this.
<Druul pulls another tome and sets it next to the first. It is a heavy black leather book embossed with gold lettering which reads "". Denelan opens this also and let's out a soft whistle.>
Denelan: This is amazing. Much harder than what they did in 2002!
<Druul nods, and pulls out yet another tome, this one looks to be bound in gold dragon hide. It's glowing blue text says "". Denelan shakes her head, opens the book...flips through, and then a concerned look comes across her face.>
Denelan: It just ends.
Druul: What?
Denelan: It just ends. Their story...it's like one day they were deep into their third "Great Item Hunt", and then they vanished from the face of Norrath. I wonder if they are still alive?
Druul <shaking his head>: I just don't know. But I'll tell you what I do know.
Denelan: What's that?
Druul <looking down at the shabby armor on his body, the lack of rings and earrings, and rusty wooden shield>: I know that half the things I'm wearing I've had since 1st level. I'm thinking that this "Xanda and company" had the right idea. I'm thinking that it's time to stop leveling up, and time to start gearing up.
<Denelan looks over her own gear and nods her head in agreement>
Denelan: But we're just two. Can we follow this ancient Wayfarer tradition just with us two?
Druul: We can if we're careful, not overly ambitious, and willing to work as a team for the good of the individuals. And if I read these tomes correctly, the real Wayfarer tradition is that the guild always stepped up to help when help was asked for.
Denelan <putting out her hand>: Then we're committed. We ask the guild to join us if and when they can, but you and I never waver from our support for each other.
<Druul puts out his hand and clasps Denelan's firmly>
Denelan: The Great Item Hunt 2008?
Druul: The Great Item Hunt 2008
Denelan <moving to the bookshelves>: Then let's begin our research....
Druul: I was thinking the same thing.
Denelan <as we begin a fade to black>: Did anyone ever tell you that, for a Troll Shaman, you seem as smart as a Gnomish Necromancer?
<fade to black>
