After wiping the gravemould from our clothes (ok, I didn't wipe ALL of mine off), we headed for the Faydark and the gates of Felwithe to continue TGIH03A. Along the way, Thunderhart happened upon a wandering armor salesman, and as luck would have it, was able to purchase a very exquisite set of armored sleeves that were far and away better than the "Sleeves of the Ancients" that we were scheduled to acquire on TGIH03A. As such, our item list shortened from 9, to 8 items.
We moved on quickly to Felwithe.
I have to admit, I thought at first this would be one of those killjoy cities like Erudin, but it turns out that the high elves were much more interested in my gnomishness than what my particular profession was. (At least the guards were...the Elven merchants didn't smile at me as much..maybe I haven't bought enough Keebler cookies in my life).
This next step represented a new twist in a Great Item Hunt...the creation of an item through our own tradeskills. With great trepidation, considering the pain it cost to acquire the Essence of Moonlight, Xandamir proceeded to brew up (successful 4 of 5 times) the strangely glowing "Moonlight Temper". (I have suspicions that there are more interesting uses for such a brew, such as spreading a lovely case of Lycanthropy for my Lord Bertoxxolus, but will keep quiet about them for now). Xandamir then took us to the forge where she had prepared all the necessary ingredients for making 2 special items for Talinoth. With very little Moonlight Temper to spare, she succeeded wonderfully in smithing for Talinoth a pair of Imbued Elven Chainmail Gloves and a (/snicker) Imbued Elven Chainmail Skirt.
TGIH03A was 2 for 2 out of 8 items.
With a whooping cry of "success", we moved on to our next locale...the far removed continent of Kunark. Thankfully, the esoteric Plane of Knowledge allowed us ready access, and we were soon sweating through the sweltering jungle of Warsliks Woods. We made our way through the forest to an old, abandoned hut along an ancient road (built by whom, and for what purpose, I can't guess). We had heard of a roving band of outcast Iksar living in these woods and around this particular hut, and Thunderhart had heard that the leader of the group wore a silvery Bracer of Scavenging, something of unparalleled craftsmanship, and he had vowed that such a treasure was to be his. We hovered around the fringes of the encamped hut, occasionally luring the exiles and pariahs into a trap. About an hour later, the Iksar Bandit Lord himself arrived to see what had happened to his troops and stupidly walked into our trap. He was down before he knew what hit him. Thunderhart stood over the body stating "Hear me, oh Tribunal! I claim this Bracer by right of superior skill at arms!" and with that, slid the metal band around his wrist.
TGIH03A is 3 for 3 of 8 total.
We have another target in Warsliks Woods, a Goblin Witchdoctor who is carrying something of importance to a friend of Xandamir's. We camped deep in the woods and when we awake, we shall hunt him down.
