My computer can no longer read .bmp format since the patch. I've read topics on tech forum and tried adding a line to the defaults of the eqclient file specifying .bmp (apparently without this it's saved as a 32-bit bitmap, which Win98 has trouble with rather than 16-bit), but it still doesn't work. Following more advice, I changed the default screenshot to .png, which I can read, but they look pixelly.

Any thoughts?

have you tried ScreenshotType=jpg ? You could also try .tga. I don't know if that's one of the supported options for everquest but if it is you're guaranteed not to have pixelation....although your file size will be huge.

I haven't even tried .jpg because there is way too much data loss. I want something I can manipulate. I haven't tried .tga.

The tech forums say that .png is an equal format (quality wise) to .bmp, but they don't look that way to me. Maybe it's my video card. :(

.tga uses zero compression (normally) and therefore will give you really high quality.
