OK new PC with windows xp as an OS loaded the evolution CD and the game loads just find. When the icon in clicked on to start the game, I get a generic "cannot find portal" message and a .dll component is missing. (I will have to check on the exact message when I get home.) The .dll file in question is in the EQ directory so I have no clue why it would say it wasn't there. At first I thought the portal issue came up becuase the game was loaded under a specific user and not under administrator. So I unloaded it form the user area and loaded to admin. Now I get a different "portal" message. Any thoughts on This one. Apparently the disks are good and no SOE has not had the slightest bit of help for me. |

XP has a built in firewall. Could be that needs to be disabled or contact SoE to find out what the various ip addresses are so you can put them in. Before you ask, I don't know where to find the firewall. Might be under network settings in the control panel. Mal |
