Hey guys I bought EQ Evoultion for my hubbie so he can start to enjoy the world of Norrath with me. Unfortunately we cannot load the game. It starts up with the Installshield wizard, loads that and then comes up with an "Unhandled Exception" Error Number 0x80040706 Description: Object Reference Not set. SETUP WILL NOW TERMINATE. Set up abprts and that is the end of it. EQ evolution is the first three expansions, SoL, PoP and LoY expansions all rolled into one. I tried loading EQ from my disks but using his codes and teh game would not load from there either. With SONY being all messed up cause of the fire, I have no idea where to start for troubleshooting. He has a good PC system, and meets more than the basic requirements for the game. Any thoughts? I also ran dxdiag and have the info from that if it is worth looking at.... I can send it if anyone can help but I don't want to post it and take up space on the boards |

That's what I do. Takes too long to go through all the upgrade installations. Afterall, you only need the CD code on the account creation screen. Otherwise, sounds like you got a bad disk. It happens from time to time. Try contacting SOE and demanding they send you a good disk.
