Until...well, yesterday....I had an Alienware laptop that played any game aerodynamic enough for me to throw at it, including Half-Life 2 and EQ2. I won't claim it played as well as my desktop but the point is there are plenty of companies out there making "desktop replacement" laptops. I eBayed it and got a Powerbook instead for portability but it was an amazing machine. Companies specializing in these laptops are: http://www.alienware.com http://www.voodoopc.com http://www.sagernotebook.com http://www.hypersonic-pc.com Dell also has the XPS...which is gi-normous but powerful. In all fairness to Dell though, gaming laptops are all heavy (8 lbs. at the low end) and there's is significanty less expensive than some of the others. |
