Hey...need ya'll's input again

Do any of you use 800x600 as your usual resolution or know anyone who does? I realize most gamers use higher end hardware and therefore higher resolutions much of the time, but what about your parents, grandparents, co-workers, etc. I'm mainly concerned about the not-so-tech-savvy

I voted yes, but then I wanted clarification - do you mean on your desktop or in EQ?

I use it on both at home; at work it's 1024 by 768 for desktop.

Most systems I see these days are running 1024 ... especially notebooks, as the 15.0" LCDs are default res at 1024 (or 1280 for 15.4" or 17" WXGA). I've even moved my parents from the old 800x600 to 1024 some time ago.

I usually go 1280 x 1024 but my wife complains that the text is so small she can't read it so it sometimes gets set back to the ultra-coarse resolution of 1024 x 768 (I mean, really, it's like looking at an Atari 2600).

1280 x 1024 sounds about right

im still deciding whether to upgrade to one of those cinematic apple monitors or upgrade ram...or both (life is short)

I would imagine that most people use 1024. Most of my computers are set to this, but the one I play EQ on is set to 800x600 because it has trouble handling something bigger. Still, I build a lot of websites for work and our standard practice consists of 800x600 pages -there are a lot of old computers out there. We recently worked on our new official http://www.pepperdine.edu page and even that still stuck to the 800x600. Go fig.

I'm running 1024 x 768 on the desktop and 800 x 600 in game. I think when I tried 1024 x 768 in game, it crashed.
