In my experiene having built all my own computers for the last 4 years, you can get a faulty power source in the white box. I have no idea if you've built this yourself, or Dell'd or what. If you bought the white box from somewhere online, there's a good chance that, esp on the P4 boards that require the extra power, the power source is the problem.
