Hail! I am fairly new here on the boards, but I already have a topic of interest and hopefully we can put to rest some worries I have about my main character, Grunnar. To begin with, I'm really new to shaman class and my main over the past 3 years had been a necro and recently a warrior. I have played every class in EverQuest up to at least 20, with exception of beastlord and have had some bad experiences in the past with certain combinations of races and classes. I have been researching my class as I have been leveling and have noticed very few vah shir shaman in existence on Veeshan server--the great majority are all barbarians or trolls with a few iksar and ogres. So I began talking with a level 63 vah shir shaman and asked him if there were any disadvantages to being a vah shir shaman and he gave me rather cursory answers, but after looking even further into it myself, I soon found that there was an entire line of spells (imbue) that was unavailable to vah shir. I found that the imbue spells are for creation of diety-specific shaman equipment, but none of it seemed very useful. Noting that their was an emphasis on dieties with shaman, I started thinking; a shaman is really a diety-based class, so what are agnostic-only vah shir doing as shaman?
I didn't really feel like going through the entire shaman spell list to check if there were anymore diety-specific spells, nor did I get a straight answer from any 60+ shaman on whether or not they had any superior equipment that would be unavailable to a vah shir, but am I missing something here? Despite my troubling findings, I still remain dedicated to my shaman and will not let these things thwart my progress, but I would certainly love to know if any curve balls are coming.
