Wayfarers of Veeshan

Last night I got disconnected while we were raiding. Sometimes when I get booted like that, I wind up having to reboot my computer because the "you have been disconnected" screen stays up and I can't tab out to windows.

This time I rebooted, loaded EQ, and tried to log on. I would get past the character select screen and almost be logged in, and get disconnected again. This happened two more times, with me having to reboot every time.

My internet was otherwise working fine; I could connect to sites, and my email was up.

Any ideas?

Random Ideas...

- I've had similar situations, so it's clear the bug is in EQ itself and not in the net connection.

- My inability to get into the game itself in the last few months has been a "you're on Vista and not
running this game in administrator mode" issues. Those seem to be inconsistent, which is more
maddening. Try to right-click and "run as administrator" if you're looking for a random attempt
to fix.

I still have XP, so that particular "run as administrator" problem isn't one of mine.

I've had modem issues in the past (and still have them), so I'm trying to differentiate this problem from that one. I think this issue is something with EQ, although sometimes when I'm disconnected I can get back in reasonably quickly, without having to reboot.

Can't hurt to run a full file check at the log in screen.

Good point. I haven't done that lately.

Also copy your allegretta_luclin.ini and UI_allegretta_luclin.ini to another directory. Log in and then log back out and copy the contents of those two files to the newly created ones.

I've had to do this a few times and it worked for me.
