okay i got this thing fixed not happy about what happend i did an install from windows and comp went to restart and got stuck in a loop would load to the loading windows screen and then shutdown. after making a few calls to people who know to much about PCs i gave up bought a new hard drive new windows and another stick of memorey (id like to thank my wife at this point ) just got it all installed today after a few hiccups, now i just need to reinstall every thing and ill be back on

8 hours of patch left, ive been dancing for 35 hours of patching now getting tired

okay pc is up downloaded graphic drivers ect, now when i get to serverselect screen my mouse freezes in the corner and key board doesnt seem to work any ideas on how to unlock my mouse? ive hit my frustration level for the day any help would be great

I sympathize, Rithis, but I don't have anything constructive to offer. I bet Tanliel will have some ideas when he reads this, or some other person who knows more about the game interface than I do.

Ouch. That's such a tease, to get to server select and then fail like that. Sounds like there could be some kind of driver issue ... except that then they would fail outside of EQ. I'm afraid I can't remember all of the stupid little hoops you have to jump through to get EQ1 to play on a new install. They sure didn't make it user-friendly. I'd say to surf the EQ forums for anyone else who had the same problem (because I bet you SOMEBODY did) and see what fixed it for them.

Do you still have to install some remedial drivers to account for that DirectX change that EQ1 made like three years ago? (I always had to, because my game discs were all older than the change, lol.)

Oh! Brain just remembered "Ctrl Alt R" as the old EQ1 command to unlock the mouse. That was from when they were first playing around with windowing EQ1; don't know if it still does anything. Or that it would help you, since you said your keyboard wasn't responding, too.

thanks gealaen did a search on the forums windows sp2 is suppose to have a fix tried that didnt work read another one that said to load in in widows and the mouse will work so im going with that thanks for the idea with the forums ill try the old mouse unlock to
