Having only touched EQ2 in beta and slightly after release, what exactly about these changes makes it so much more like EQ2, please?

The death thing for one. The con system I think is somewhat like it.
The new graphical char creation screen.

Hmm yeah the con system in EQ2 is much more specific. I'm guessing from what I've read above that besides regular dark blue con there will be a special dark blue that shows the NPC's that are within the "sweet" spot mentioned. In EQ2 mobs had fancy brackets or some such around their name to indicate they were special somehow vs a regular mob that con'd the same color. The death thing I'm not so sure about, on the one hand not having to wait to load zones could be nice, but I see it making battle rez's much faster, unless they build in some type of delay timer, it could unbalance some things.

doran.. it doesnt really speed it up all that much unless they take a no xp rez.. when you die you zone so fast as it is its the same time it takes me to click you.. so you save what 10 seconds and thats still pushing it

On the new rez I think it will be faster but then I'm not a regular rez giver. I know my spell takes time to load and go active and that's usually enough time for the person to have zoned and be ready, and that after I cast it you can usually count to a pretty high number before they zone back and appear. On some folks you count much higher if they have a slow machine/connectoin or the zone is just laggy with 70 folks. With a clicky at the ready and no return load I would bet its much faster, but I could be mistaken.

On the new con system, I've not played EQ2 in awhile, (sometime last year), but then, as I remember, it went "something" like this:

MOB NAME - in whatever color in this case let's say dark blue
(MOB NAME) - let's say in dark blue still, with the bracket, would denote oh a boss mob or something like tougher version of the regular ones around it.
*{MOB NAME}* - again still dark blue but this would be a special epic or rare spawn, mob or some such.

I think there were more variations but I don't remember and of course my symbols are just to give an idea of what they had done. It kinda takes some of the guesswork out of it. Some call it "dumbing it down" and don't like it, I'm kinda neutral myself, I don't mind some guesswork but even in EQ you know if it has a name its special, or most players can and do go to a website and find out what mobs have special attacks etc in a zone anyways.

Just my 2 cents

if it s like the eq2 system it would be basically a denotation of wether its dark blue and soloable or it dark blue and groupable .. i think though that what its saying is maybe a more accurate range of beneficial kills.. becuase for example something in nobles causeway is dark blue but gives far less xp then the dark blue in wall of slaughter as well as anythign dark blue in MPG.. so maybe its just a better way of knowing how much x p you are going to get off a certain kill.. it may seem like dumbing down but id rather sped my time kkilling something i can kill with good xp then trying to figure out if its worth it or not..
