Actually, I've heard that those cards no longer drop (but any existing cards will still combine in the "deck" (container - also no longer drops)
So the prices of existing cards may sky rocket as people try to get that last card to complete the combine.
The things to collect now are the chess pieces (I so far have 1 White Pawn, and 1 Black Castle).
If you get 4 Pawns of the same color, or a Queen, Knight, Castle, and Bishop of the same color, they can be turned in.
Rumor is that it triggers a sequence to spawn the Black or White King to drop the uber loot.
I think the plan is to try to get single groups to the chess board to farm pieces (and get good XP for killing L61 - L64 mobs with the group bonus).
Once we get enough pieces to do a turn-in, we'll form a raid party to do the turn-in and see what happens (don't want to waste a turn-in with one group who most likely cannot handle it, but if it turns out that one group can, all the better for next time)
