Folks...this one stumps me, having never tried it...

Is Spell Research class dependent or not?

For example, can my Necromancer, with a high level of spell research, take a set of, say, Velishoul's Tome pages, and buy a Tome of Endless Enchantments, and make Enchanter spells? Or is "Spell Research" really,
hidden behind the scenes, 4 separate skills (1 for each INT caster type)?

I am going to try this, just because if it IS possible, it'll mean that whatever caster I have at highest level will be the one that makes spells for all my other caster alts. The only problem is that each of the tomes is a 4 slot NODROP container, so no "handing the book from Enchanter to Necro, doing a combine, then handing it back"; I'll have to own my own Enchanter tome. But with 16 bank slots (yeah!) this isn't out of the question for the potential of less research failures for my lower level alts!

I can't speak for all 4, but at least 2 are droppable. The necro one, and the one you get for Greater Lightstones in NK. I would assume all 4 can be traded. Remember: A container becomes NO DROP while it has a no drop item inside it.

With the new LoY expansion also came advanced research containers. These are no drop and available in the Gulf of Gunthark. Besides doing normal combines, these are the only way to do some special combines used in making new cultural robes. You must have >100 skill to receive the new containers and any of the 4 can do the swatch combines.
BTW: I'll be needing someone who can make thses combines for me. They appear to all be trivial around 122.

Think i can help a bit in this salyens skill at research is 133 or 137 i cant remember atm, Anyways Any class can do the research for another class...Meaning they are not class specific, As a mage i have done combines for necros and enchanters...I had to buy my own (book if you will for each of the classes of combines). These are fairly cheap at roughly 5 gp per book.

Just checked my necro book, and it says NODROP. The gypsy given book is NOT the Words-to-spells book...it's the "rat ears and quill and gem and paper - to - practice runes" book, which *is* good for all classes.
