Wayfarers of Veeshan

Been toying with the idea of coming back to EQ. Was curious though about all the changes.

Have they been positive? Negative? One of the things I am finding with WoW is that there is no higher level progression. Once you hit 60 - you are maxed out in what you can do. Huge focus is on PvP. It's been almost a year since I actually played EQ - wow that's just nuts especially since I played so much.

So what's new with the game? What's stayed the same? Can a cleric still tank?

Changes in the last year:

The Age of War
Omens of War - Plane of Discord has opened up and the fight against the Muramite army is taken to a head. Many new opportunities for advancing alternate abilities as well as new epic quests.

Dragons of Norrath
Large events have taken place with Lanys T'vyl and Firiona Vie organizing armies and marching against one another. The outpost of Firiona Vie in Kunark was lost to the dark army and the dragon brood area north of Lavastorm was uncovered.

-Now-
There is presently an ongoing action by the Ykeshan army to try and retake the city of Gukta, formerly Grobb, home of the trolls. There are armies of dark elves, trolls, ogres vieing against an assortment of armies including barbarians, high elves, wood elves, and guktans.
An exciting time, to be sure. (*ongoing plotline for the release of Depths of Darkhollow in September*)

So yes, lots of things going on. Clerics can tank?

As some of you know, yesterday I renewed my account. I am also toying with the idea. Will be in game, at least for the next month to decide what to do. Gedare is correct about WoW, that once you reach 60, there is really nothing to do. We shall see.

We would be very happy to see our old friends back in the game and playing again. There is a lot we can do with just a few more people.

much of the newer content is geared to the 60-70 levels, so theres almost always something to do

That would be awesome, Myth. I still need to pick up game. My original plan was to retire from WoW then come back to EQ, however that kind of got delayed indefinitely when the guild there got handed over to me rather abruptly.

Well I remembered Ged's password and stuff, logged in and no one was around

Oh well catch you all soon. I was thrilled to see Ged was still in guild. Wow, lots of changes. Was so lost in the bazaar. Hush, I know..I know. I get lost everywhere but I didn't even recognize it. Bear with me, I haven't played EQ in ages. Am still going to play WoW, but it's nice to see everyone in EQ as well
