As some of you know, Loral Ciriclight is the newest contributor to Mobhunter. is his list of items that in his opinion should be addressed when SOE meets with the EQ community.

Loral first came to my attention when Lacries, I believe, posted to the forum earlier this year. Since then I have been a big admirer of his balanced sensible approach to the game.

I really don't think he hit much of the issues that I think are important, so I'll post here and wonder if I'm alone in this...

Issues *I* would add to this list:
1) Remove the requirement to have a vendor in the Bazaar. Instead, have a "display case" sort of system where you drop an item into a "for sale" area and come back later to pick up cash if it has sold.

2) Fix the lag in PoK. Somehow. Someway.

3) Stop adding new content until you've fixed all the old content. This includes buggy quests and the (literally) dozens of *different* UNRESOLVED bugs that you find on the tech support forums.

4) Add a "decay factor" to everything. The economy is comletely off-balanced because nothing "goes bad". There more opal encrusted steins created every day than their are players that join. Resale of such items went from about 50 pp when first introduced down to about 5 or 10 pp just to "dump them". That is, tradeskillers who got into the game late have no chance of recouping their costs in most tradeskills anymore. [Ask yourself this: Would you get into the auto-manufacturing business if you knew that almost everyone owned a car already and that that car would last them forever?]

Drexx, I think some of those are good ideas. Specifically, I certainly would like to see an improved bazaar that doesn't require you to be online to sell something.

#2 and #3 - Yep, fixing the lag and clipping issues are probably at the top of the list. The unresolved issues vary depending on who you talk to though. Bugged quests and recipes are way up there for me too.

#4 would require a complete rewrite of the underlying game mechanics, and that is just NOT going to happen. Item decay has been bandied about for 5 years+ now.

As for the selling in the Bazaar. Once upon a time, Vaeuryte took a break from EQ. He loaded this new game up and made a purple Dragon named Barnie. He was looking for one other person (the amount needed to start a Guild) so that he could make a Guild called Happy Family. Anyway, in this game, there was an NPC called a consigner. You gave your items to him and set the price that you wanted them sold at. You did not have to be online to sell your stuff. If the consigner sold something of yours, the money was tagged and added to your 'vault' when you logged in. This, in my humble opinion, is a very good idea, however, with the economy that EQ has, it would never fly. Too many greedy people out there.

yeh that was a good system even though you could only put like 5 items up at a time. you could of course go to other consigners and put 5 more up with them. it actually kinda added to the peddling your wares kinda thing to have to make the rounds to the diff cities.
