Note: This post was originally created to set out specific rules for Alliance Raiders raids. AR has since gone inactive, but there is too much good info here to delete the post. Many of these items can be applied to raids in general, and it's a good idea to review them.

In general ALL chat is confined to designated chat channels. Only raid officers, the main tank, and the designated puller are to speak in /rsay.

Raids generally start forming up 30 minutes before the start time. If you're not grouped when you arrive, put up the /lfg tag and tell the channel you're looking for a group.

Each raider is expected to have an EB item and a way to camo/invis himself. Don't count on someone in your group being able to provide that.

Here are some other tips for people to remember:

1) There is also channel /arcc for crowd control classes and offtanks and, I believe, /arpull for pulling classes (I can't confirm the later). You, clearly don't need to be in all of them, but you and any boxes you may have at the raid should definitely be in the channel that is most appropriate for your class.
2) You MUST setup at an "/assist X" key based on whoever the declared MA (main assist) is. Do not attack anything until the MA has asked for it or you have been given instruction to do otherwise.
3) If you have questions, feel free to ask them in guild, group, or /arraid. Whatever you do, DO NOT send tells to the raid leader (usually Legeran/Lenai or Gealaen) or any raid officers who may be distributing loot.
4) No chaotic jesters. You'll be asked to camp if you have one out.
5) Don't be afraid to send tells to specific classes for buffs so long as they aren't raid leaders or people in the process of distributing loot.
6) Always pay attention to /rsay. For a lot of the content we're working on now, one person not paying attention could result in the raid wiping.
7) Legeran used to say this before every raid: "Have fun. Yes, it's that important!"

It's also good to be in the arraid channel even when not raiding. People often use it for making groups or to announce rotting loots.

Another very important thing: If you don't have the AA for pet hold, do not use your pet unless specifically requested.
